Steven Wilson AM has spent a lifetime helping shape Queensland business, finance and civic life.

Born in Brisbane, Steven studied Commerce and Law at the University of Queensland before beginning his career across law, accounting and financial markets, including formative experience in London with Cazenove.

After returning to Queensland in the mid-1980s, Steven joined Wilsons and went on to play a defining role in its evolution from a respected Brisbane stockbroking firm into a broader financial services group with national reach.

He later played key roles in the establishment and growth of Hyperion Asset Management and Pinnacle Investment Management — two significant Australian funds management businesses — while also contributing extensively to public and civic life through roles across South Bank Corporation, Telstra, Tourism Queensland, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Racing Queensland and the Committee for Brisbane.
