The New Government's Innovation programs at a glance:

The following programs are designed to help and encourage Australian innovation and should be seriously considered by most businesses:

R&D Tax Offset
- for Australian companies, turnover less than $5 million who are not paying tax
- spending between $20,000 and $1million on R&D
- benefit, a cash rebate to the value of 37.5% for every dollar of R&D spend

R&D Tax Concession
- for Australian companies spending $20,000 or more on R&D
- no limit on R&D spend
- benefit, claiming R&D expenditure at 125% reduces tax payable 

Commercialisation Australia Grants
- grants $50,000 to $2 million
- for Australian companies
- benefit, 50-80% grant for every dollar of R&D and early commercialisation spend
